  President’s /Board Meeting Message
The District Convention is only 48 days away!  We have 2 important Deadlines around the corner.  Please register online or by mail for the District Convention by August 1 to avoid the $30 late fee and to help us plan our events accordingly.

We have about 280 Kiwanis clubs in the Great Florida District and your Club is part of what makes us the premier service organization around the world.  Let your voice be heard; your club is entitled to 3 delegates at the District Convention.  All 3 delegates receive a discount towards their registration fee.  Do not miss this opportunity to help shape the future of the Florida District.

New To Kiwanis?  This is one of the best opportunities to experience Kiwanis.  Join us at the 93rd Annual District Convention to learn about the greatest service organization in the world.  Learn about other Kiwanis projects around the District and how we as Kiwanians are "Changing The World One Child and One Community at a Time".
Thanks to all of you who were able to come out and help with Alex’s Lemonade stand.  We had a pretty good attendance especially when Raymond got there and began attracting attention and actually escorting people to the stand to buy lemonade.  The children as usual enjoyed the coloring contest where everyone won a prize.  There was a good meal on Monday evening and David Romine handed out certificates to those who participated this year in Every Child a Swimmer.
Our speaker,  Marilyn Hafling reported back to us about Family Promise and the
progress they are making in finding churches to provide temporary housing for homeless

families.  Our next speaker will be from Clothes to Kids on July 26. We were pleased to welcome a couple from Michigan who have just retired and are looking for a Kiwanis Club to join.

                 Have a good weekend, Carol

Well, we were back at the Yacht Club this week for our Board Meeting.  Thanks to Lt. Gov.
Markus Mittermayr for joining us. He thanked David and me for completing our CLE training.
The Board discussed changing our meeting night back to Thursday after David        takes office
because he will be teaching at the college on Monday nights in October, November and
December.  Everyone seemed to think that would be the best night and Kathleen confirmed
with the Yacht Club that this night would be available.  The board approved paying the registration
fee for DCON in August for our delegates and also the fee for putting a full page ad in the
DCON program book as we have every year. Diane Walker was at the meeting and received
her official Gulf Beaches shirt. Monday, September 27, was set for our Installation Dinner.
George, Ann, Eddie and I will be in Las Vegas for International Convention so David will
chair the meeting next Monday.  Please come and keep him company  See ya when we
               get back,
